BlogTheque currently accepts images and media in the following formats:
- pdf;
- gif;
- bmp (will be automatically converted to webp or jpg);
- jpg;
- png;
- svg;
- webp;
- Avif since the update of 09-06-2024.
The avif format is now supported because it is supported by all the latest versions of the main browsers.
For PDF files, an image of the first page is automatically created when uploading.
By default and for performance and SEO reasons, images (except svg) are automatically converted to webp format. It is possible to disable the conversion when uploading.
WebP is a raster image format developed and made available to the public by Google. On average, it allows you to save between 25% and 30% on the weight of an image - and therefore speed up page loading - while maintaining good quality. We recommend that you use it as a priority.
In the near future, the default format for BlogTheque will be the Avif format, because it is more efficient than the WebP format.
